Imagine you’re spending a day with a group of incredible musicians under a chestnut tree in a ancient field just north of London.  You’re making small talk about the weather and suddenly, the frontman pulls a well-loved guitar from its case and the rest of the band follows suit. They being to pluck and croon their most recent masterpiece, and you sit in silent wonder and full appreciation that this performance is for your ears only.

This is what Watch Listen Tell is all about.

Three years ago, Dave Tree, a director from the UK, founded Watch Listen Tell, a music project featuring one-take music videos of new, and often unsigned artists playing unplugged, live music on the streets of Europe. Think:up-and-coming bands like Ben HowardDark Dark Dark, and Young the Giant, and more popular bands like Bombay Bicycle ClubOk Go, and Two Door Cinema Club. These stripped-down performances let you see the artists quirks and personality first hand. And, skilled cinematographers utilize simple shots and high-quality audio and video to make you feel as if you’re standing amidst the music. It’s brilliant, really.
