Birthed in Iceland, the indie/folk band Of Monsters and Men is in good musical company (Sigur Ros, Bjork, and Emiliana Torrini are from Iceland, and Bon Iver’s Holocene video was filmed there too). Of Monsters and Men only have a few recorded songs out, but a full length, debut album is set for release later this year.

The alternate guy/girl vocals are reminiscent of Home, by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, but the overall sound is similar to Fanfarlo and some Sufjan Steven’s earlier work. Little Talks, the first single from Of Monsters and Men, has been blowing up indie blogs and playlists since its release at the beginning of 2011.
