Delicious southern fried Chicken in NYC?  It’s possible, probable, and a reality. Hill Country Chicken can be found on 25th Street and Broadway, just Northwest of the flatiron building, and south of the Ace Hotel. This 1950’s style joint is anachronistic in 2011 New York City. Hill Country Chicken boasts of par-non fresh pies, buttermilk biscuits, sugar cane cola, cheesy fried mashed potatoes, homestyle mac’n’cheese, and not to mention Mama Els’ fried chicken (which is in the running for the best fried chicken in the city)!

Price: $5-$15, the Kid’s Coup (chicken, fresh-ctut fries, and a drink) is only $7.08 with tax.

Directions? NR to 23rd, walk 2 blocks north to Broadway.

Wait? I’ve yet to experience a wait. Hill Country Chicken is cafeteria style, so mosey downstairs to the rec room after you get your food if there aren’t any seats available upstairs.

Tip: whatever you order, make sure to get one of those buttermilk biscuits.

Mmmm. Finga’ lickin’! Love it so much, gotta have that chicken!
