“Everything that is old is new again,” says Goth, owner and operator of Le Maison Supreme on 617 Hudson Street in the West Village. “Here, we mix vintage with modern then add a lot of colors.” Le Maison means ‘the home‘ in French, and Le Maison Supreme is the perfect stop for fresh, light, feminie, French decor for your own home-albeit at a hefty price.

The items in Le Maison sort of look like something that you might find at your grandmother’s house, yet there is a strikingly modern feel to the place; it’s a little bit of Pairs in the heart of NYC.  The store isn’t huge, and it’s not like IKEA-you won’t find absolutely everything for your home here, but you will discover items you wouldn’t find anywhere else-AND it’s a great place to pick up some inspiration before you head to the Brooklyn Flea, Hells Kitchen flea market, or Housing Works in search of similar items for a fraction of the price.

It’s easy to go overboard with the gold and make your home look gaudy with a sensory overload of gold plate, but I can see how a little bit of bling can go a long way to enhance the décor of your home. After all, a little sparkle is a lot of fun.
